Dougherty Hospice House

Through generous support, the Dougherty Hospice House officially opened its doors to introduce a new concept in Hospice care. Conveniently located next to Avera Prince of Peace Retirement Community, this new 25,000 square foot facility's unique design provides a home-like setting full of light and features celebration and meditation rooms. Most important, the Dougherty Hospice House believes in celebrating life--this "circle of care" philosophy offers both the patients and their families with the warmth and security of home in addition to necessary medical assistance.

Avera Institute for Human Behavioral Genetics

Unique in the nation, the Avera Institute for Human Behavioral Genetics has the potential to change many lives-by limiting the suffering caused by behavioral disorders. Avera IHBG combines genetic and environmental principles with an aim toward health and wellness in children, families and communities.

Walsh Family Village

Nano Nagle, known for her guiding lantern that would lead the sick, poor and aged, is the inspiration for the Walsh Family Village. From its original design and moniker, the Nano Nagle Hospitality Home, to the current Walsh Family Village layout - scheduled to be completed in Spring 2008 - this special project could not have been done without the support of our donors, led by Tom and Kathy Walsh and the Los Cabos Children's Foundation. The Walsh Family Village is a testament to the dedication of our community for helping those in need - just as Nano Nagle dedicated her life so many years ago.
