Walsh Family Village - Thank You to Our Donors
What started with a guiding lantern so many years ago has turned into a modern day story of teamwork and dedication as construction of the Walsh Family Village gets underway. As part of this on-campus lodging project, Avera McKennan Hospital and Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota are proud to include the expansion of the Ronald McDonald House to the Walsh Family Village site.
This expansion will include an eight-room house and will be located on the southeast corner of the Walsh Family Village Project. Current construction plans include a new Nano Nagel Hospitality Home and Casa de Carlitos—all which come together to form a hospitality community driven to ease out-of-pocket expenses and provide peace of mind to families facing difficult health situations.
The Casa de Carlitos has a dual purpose: a welcome center for the public and a place for families of children from Los Cabos to stay while receiving treatment. "We're excited to see not only a new Nano Nagle Home and Ronald McDonald House, but to see how these homes will all come together to form this unique hospitality community is really unique," says Helen Henkin, major gifts officer for the Avera McKennan Foundation. "We feel the Walsh Family Village is a testament to the dedication of our community to help those in need."
Sincere thanks go out to all donors who helped make the Walsh Family Village a reality. For more information about the Walsh Family Village or to make a donation to the ongoing operations, please contact Helen Henkin, Major Gifts Officer at (605) 322-8832.
