The Avera Cancer Institute is pleased to introduce Care Connection. With one phone call, your family doctor or specialist can connect you with a team that will care for you during your cancer treatment.
- You will meet your physician, as well as nurses, a social worker, a patient advocate and other team members - all here to help you.
- Your physician and team will discuss the plan for office visits, diagnostic tests and treatment options.
- You will tour the Avera Cancer Institute and Community Cancer Resource Library, as well as receive a wealth of information about support services available to you.

Please bring the following to your first appointment
- All of your health insurance cards and a photo ID. The front receptionist will register you and scan your cards. If you have Medicare Part D coverage for your oral medications, please bring that card as well.
- Any medications you are currently taking in their original bottles.
Please Note: If you receive Medicaid benefits, you are required to obtain a referral from your primary care physician prior to your appointment and must show your current card at the time of your appointment.
Co-pays will be collected at the time of your appointment.

Driving Directions to Avera Cancer Institute
If you are traveling from the Northwest:
- Take I-29 South to 12th Street, Exit 79
- Take 12th Street east to Cliff Avernue
- Turn right on Cliff Avenue and drive straight south
- Turn right on 21st Street
If you are traveling from the Southwest:
- Take I-29 North on I-229, Exit 75
- Take I-229 to Cliff Avenue, Exit 4
- Turn left on Cliff Avenue and drive straight north
- Turn left on 21st Street
If you are traveling from the Northeast:
- From I-90, take Cliff Avenue, Exit 339, and drive straight south, OR
- Take I-229 South to 10th Street, Exit 6
- Turn right on 10th Street and drive to Cliff Avenue
- Turn left on Cliff Avenue and drive south
- Turn right on 21st Street
If you are traveling from the Southeast:
- Take 26th Street to Cliff Avenue
- Turn right on Cliff Avenue and drive north
- Turn left on 21st Street
Parking at Avera Cancer Institute
Patient parking is available in the lot directly in front of the building. You can access this lot from 21st Street. If this lot is full, there is parking available on the streets adjacent to the building. Avera McKennan also has two parking ramps (North Parking Ramp and South Parking Ramp) on campus connected by skywalk to the hospital, Avera Cancer Institute, and other campus buildings.
