Our nursing staff is proud to work at the 36th Magnet Hospital in the nation and the first in the Dakotas. We have received the Magnet Nursing Services recognition award - the highest honor in nursing - from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Being recognized for this status demonstrates our excellence in patient care and professional nursing practice.

Educational Nursing Programs and Opportunities
We offer nursing internships and other special programs allowing Avera McKennan to enhance the educational experience of nursing students, form closer bonds with future nurses, and offer financial assistance.
