Avera Marshall Race Against Breast Cancer
In an effort to help in the fight against breast cancer, the annual Foundation Run With the Wind was renamed the Avera Marshall Race Against Breast Cancer. The event, held on June 6, 2009, also had a new location with the races starting and ending from the Avera Marshall campus. The fundraiser featured 5K and 10K races with the addition of a 1-mile Survivor & Friends Walk.
Proceeds Support Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center
The goal is to bring together family, friends, cancer survivors and others -- all racing toward a common goal: to enhance cancer care for people right here in our region. Every penny stays local to help your families, friends and neighbors get the treatment and support they need.
Proceeds are being used to fund cancer screenings for uninsured and underinsured individuals.
