Platte Health Center, Avera established in 1949 by the Platte community, was formerly known as Platte Community Memorial Hospital. The fifteen-bed facility offers nine swing beds and six acute care beds. Six physicians are on staff at Platte Health Center, Avera. A mid-level provider is available five days a week.

Platte Medical Clinic, Avera was established in the early 1960's by Dr. E.F. Kalda and Dr. L.P. Mills. It was known as the Platte Medical Clinic. Two physicians and a physician assistant provide care on a full-time basis at the clinic. In addition, several physicians on staff at Avera Queen of Peace in Mitchell provide specialized care on a regular basis.
