Avera Queen of Peace

Letter From Our CEO

Dear Friends:

For over a century, Avera Queen of Peace has served the health care needs of Mitchell and the region. Through our affiliation with Avera, a network of hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and long term care facilities, we provide a continuum of care to meet the health care needs of newborns to the elderly in an 11-county area. All services are guided by the mission and values of the Benedictine and Presentation Sisters.

As a non-profit hospital, Avera Queen of Peace reinvests earnings into the community, whether that is through new technology, community health and education, charity care, or education and training for our staff. Our commitment reflects a century of history and tradition which will guide our efforts into the future. As you explore our website, I hope you learn more about the services we provide; if you have any questions, please click on the “contact us” button on our home page! I hope our website reflects our commitment to providing you and your family with the latest that medicine has to offer.

What began in 1906 when a group of Presentation Sisters were invited to Mitchell to care for the community’s sick and elderly, has grown into a premier regional health care center that provides for today’s needs and plans for the future needs of our region.

Sincerely,

Thomas P. Rasmusson
President and CEO
