Occupational Therapy helps patients regain skills that are needed to be independent with all normal daily tasks.

  • Anyone with limitations due to an injury or illness who needs assistance to participate in daily home or work tasks can benefit from OT.
  • Specific task activities focus on skills needed at home such as independence with dressing, bathing, cooking, laundry, and more.
  • Home assessments are completed to ensure safety and assist patients to remain in their own home as long as possible
  • OT also works with children, encouraging success with school and play tasks
  • Avera St. Benedict Health Center’s Occupational Therapist is a specialist in the treatment of hand injuries and works closely with surgical specialists in our region.
  • OT is available 5 days a week by a licensed Occupational Therapist with over 10 years experience.
  • OT services are provided in the hospital, long term care, assisted living, home health, and on an outpatient basis.
