Why It's Successful:

  • This three-year program is tailored to meet each facility's leadership goals within the vision, mission, and values unique to the facility's culture.
  • The facility CEO and program participants (department managers) are involved in and accountable for program topics and monthly implementation.
  • All participants identify and own leadership topics specific to the facility.
  • Consultants meet on-site quarterly and frequently communicate with facilitators and monthly program presenters via phone/email.
  • A variety of learning methods are incorporated to include verbal and demonstrative presentations, reflective writing, and evaluative feedback.
  • Facility feedback from completion of this LDP has exceeded the expected results.

Effective leadership is the key to achieving successful patient and employee satisfaction in health care facilities.  Our leadership programs bridge the gap between management and frontline staff and nurtures both the novice and experienced leader.  This results in personal transformation that supports effective succession planning and strengthens ongoing competitiveness.

Leadership Personality Profile: What’s Your Type?  I (2 hrs.)

Successful leaders recognize their personality strengths and understand how to effectively interact with staff that have other personality types.  Workshop participants will identify their specific leadership personality profile using the SELF tool.  Knowing your personality type has an immediate and positive impact on your perceptions of leadership.  By understanding your personality, you are empowered to use your unique traits to work for you, not against you.

Effective Communication Skills for Successful Leaders II (2 hrs. with prerequisite of workshop I)

Eighty-five percent (85%) of successful leadership is based on effective communication.  Most failures in leadership can be traced to poor communication.  This workshop provides leaders with the critical tools to increase self-confidence and success as they practice the four components of effective communication.  Participants will evaluate their communication style according to the SELF personality profile.

Successfully Transforming Conflict (4 hrs. with prerequisite of workshops I and II)

Conflict is a natural part of all health care facilities.  Studies estimate that 30-40% of a leader’s daily activities are devoted to working with conflict.  Possessing the tools for successfully transforming conflict will empower leaders to become more confident and productive.

Developing Productive Motivation within the Workplace  (2 hrs.)

Motivation, the drive to succeed and perform well, is always a leadership challenge.  This workshop equips leaders to define and differentiate between internal and external motivators.  Self-esteem’s critical role in motivation is also addressed. This workshop gives leaders new tools to motivate workers with inspiration, respect and empowerment.

Utilizing Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Effectively in the Workplace (2 hrs.)

Emotional Intelligence, a form of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one’s own and other’s feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them, and to use this information to guide one’s thinking and action, contributes significantly to the bottom line in any facility.  Understanding EQ helps workers use helpful information to guide their thinking and actions.  EQ accounts for anywhere from 24% to 69% of performance success.

Creating Dynamic Teams in the Workplace  (2 hrs.)

“The power of WE is stronger than the power of me.”  In today’s health care facilities of exponentially advancing technical changes and staff shortages, health care leaders must have strong TEAMS to survive.  This workshop empowers leaders to help their team members take increased ownership and personal responsibility for their team.

Leadership Strategies for Building Self-Confidence in the Workplace (2 hrs.)

Healthy self-esteem is the basis for developing confidence and fulfillment in the workplace.  Self-confidence is what we can control and it will influence our effectiveness and productivity in the workplace.  Self-confidence that is related to our self-esteem influences our creativity, energy level, and how we manage our behaviors.  This, in turn, has a critical effect on the morale within a facility.

Successfully Managing Change: Four Steps for Win-Win Results (6 hrs.)

Change is inevitable.  Managing successful change is fundamentally a behavior issue.  Leaders in health care experience change taking place at an accelerating pace and often find themselves faltering to facilitate change successfully.  This results in revolving door employment, stifled productivity, and an overall low morale within a facility.  This workshop is designed to give leaders the tools and confidence to facilitate change for win-win results.

Successfully Managing a Multigenerational Workforce  (2 hrs.)

Health care organizations struggle with the best way to integrate new staff members with those who have worked at the facility for decades.  Organizations wishing to remain successful must create a work environment that supports and includes the different styles that reflect the current multigenerational workforce.  Yet, many facilities struggle with cross-generational conflicts because needs and styles seem so divergent.

Effective Confrontation for the Workplace (2 hrs.)

Effective confrontation is a needed and vital part of every productive workplace.  This workshop is designed to help leaders develop confidence in confrontation while transforming difficult behaviors in the workplace.  Role-play is used to increase comfort and confidence, and to provide practical tools for win-win confrontation.
