Make a Healthy Habit – Salads for Work

Brown bagging your lunch is not only economical, it can also be the healthier choice. Janine Albers, Dietitian at the Sycamore Hy-Vee, tells her clients to throw together a salad for a healthy midday meal that won’t break the bank and will help you stay energized for the afternoon.

A recent Visa study found that Americans go out to lunch an average of twice weekly for a yearly tally of $1,043. That’s not even considering coffee, breakfast or snack purchases during the day.

Prepare your lunch salads ahead of time in Mason jars with the dressing at the bottom for easy storage without wilting lettuce.
