Lace Up Your Shoes and Let’s Have Some Fun!

Try to exercise with the people at your workplace. Following are some ideas I suggest to start wellness at the workplace:

  1. Start from the top. Capture your management’s attention with ideas to support wellness activities at your workplace. Come with a plan — they will appreciate it!
  2. Create wellness teams. They can be the cheerleaders for wellness education and activities in the workplace. Have them come up with ideas and how to implement it.
  3. Plan group challenges such as walks or education opportunities. Doing activities in a group provides more enthusiasm and participation.
  4. Evaluate programs by surveys and data to see what is and is not working by getting feedback from your peers.

Remember, good health and fitness go hand-in-hand. Make it easy at first. Start with an easy walk during lunch or morning stretches before you begin the day’s work.
