The Avera Children's Champion award recognizes how young patients not only cope with their illness or injury, but how they overcome obstacles with patience, courage, strength and even joy.
Our Current Avera Children's Champion
Andrew is the new Children's Champion of the month for Pediatrics. Andrew was rushed to Avera Children’s after an accident at home. Andrew had to be taken into surgery right away and recovered in the Pediatric ICU for four days. His bravery and courage was amazing to see during his stay in the PICU. He always had a smile on his face and was very polite. He never once complained about having to take his daily walks or have his dressings changed. He is a true champion! Way to go Andrew!
