Child Life Specialists
Children often need special help coping with acute and chronic illnesses. Our child life specialists are trained professionals with expertise in helping children and their families overcome life's most challenging events. They offer preparation before, and support during and after stressful events as well as therapeutic and recreational play opportunities.
Certified Family Life Educators
Our Family Life Educators help you learn tips and techniques to help you with the challenges of parenting. They offer parenting classes on a variety of topics for people with children from birth to age 5. Our educators also teach classes covering topics such as educating adolescents about babysitting and teaching siblings how to live with children suffering from chronic illnesses.
Pediatric Dietician
Children who practice healthy nutrition habits have fewer illnesses, tolerate surgery, procedures or treatments better and recover more quickly. Our pediatric dietician screens and evaluates the nutritional status of patients in the pediatric and pediatric intensive care unit. The dietician will provide recommendations for patients who may be at risk.
Chaplaincy and Chaplains
A chaplain will greet every child who arrives by transport to the hospital. Chaplains are available to any patient and family at the Children's Center to help with emotional and spiritual support, counseling and sacramental needs.
Recreational Therapist
A certified recreational therapist can help your child recover after injury or debilitating illness by providing activities structured to meet your child's specific needs.
Case Managers
These specially trained caregivers work closely with the child, family, physician and staff to create a plan of care and goals for discharge.
Social Workers
Our social work staff provides screening, assessment and intervention to patients and families to help them deal with the stresses that accompany child illness or injury.

These caring people donate their valuable time to rock infants, play games with children and maintain our beautiful outdoor patio. Thanks to these kind people, our staff has more time to spend with your child.
