In July 2007, Avera opened the Dakotas first and only practice dedicated to this field. With thousands of patients with liver disease being treated, Avera Liver Disease now staffs two Hepatologists and two Hepatobiliary Surgeons.
We are proud to offer South Dakota's only practice dedicated to Hepatology, providing consultation and treatment for persons with liver disease. As a result of our focused efforts, patients experience enhanced inpatient care, more effective slowing of liver disease and a higher level of coordination pre and post- transplant in the state and surrounding region.
