Shoulder Dislocations

A dislocation occurs when the ball of the shoulder joint is jolted out of the socket and is often sports-related.

  • Extreme pain
  • Loss of mobility
  • Swelling and bruising
  • Numbness or tingling

  • A doctor will place the ball back into the socket.
  • Surgery is sometimes necessary if it is not the first dislocation. This can allow the doctor to repair or tighten the ligaments.
