How do I get started?

Is this a high protein diet?
No, this diet puts you on the appropriate amount of protein you should be taking in each day. This diet uses high-biological protein foods that are highly absorbable to your body. This diet helps maintain your lean muscle tissue while burning your fat.
How will I feel on this diet?
Many of our dieters feel great on this diet. Your body moves into a new metabolic state called "Ketosis". This state along with regulated blood sugards causes many people to have more energy than they have had in a long time. Many people say they are not hungry and cravings have gone away.
How much does the program cost?
We encourage you to think of the cost of the program as part of your grocery bill, as it will be about 60% of the food you eat. You will be cutting back on many of the foods you once ate. You may also be saving money in medications, as many of our dieters are able to cut back in certain medicines, and some have even been able to go off completely. What is the average weight loss?
We see many people lose weight consistently. Women tend to lose 2-3 pounds per week, men are at about 3-5 pounds per week. This truly is a diet that works if you are committed.
What about food allergies?
We have a variety of foods including gluten free, dairy free, peanut free, and so the answer is yes you can work with this diet if you have food allergies/sensitivities.
I have certain health conditions, can I still participate?
Absolutely! We work with many people who have high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, who are type 1 and type 2 diabetic, and the list goes on. We work very closely with our physician here at Integrative Medicine, Dr. Sally Williams. She oversees our dieters to be sure their labs are where they need to be, or if medications need to be adjusted, and just in general feeling good on the diet. We also work with your physician(s) to update them on any changes.
What is the protocol of the program?
There are four phases to the diet. Phase 1 is the time that you are in until you meet your weight loss goal. This includes 3 food products, 8 ounces of protein, 4 cups of vegetables, and lots of water. Phase 2 is for two weeks and bumps you down to 2 food packets per day. Phase 3 is two weeks and is 1 food packet, both of these begin adding in other foods. Phase 4 is the rest of your life. We like to continue to meet with you for a year after you have reached your goal to help you adjust to a new way of eating and physical activity for the rest of your life.
How long will I need to be on the program?
You will be on Phase 1 of the protocol until you meet yoru goal. In order to find out how long you will be on you can estimate your ewight loss goal by 2.5 pounds for women, and 4 pounds for men, this will give you the number of weeks you will be on Phase 1. Phase 2 and 3 are for more weeks. Phase 4 is the rest of your life.
How often do I meet with my health coach?
We meet in our initial session for about an hour. After this we will have weekly 15 minute sessions for measurements and follow-up. You will discuss how it is going with your coach, goals, barriers, and gain encourangement to keep moving along to a healthier you.
Will I ever get to eat foods I am used to?
This program will help you make lifelong changes to your diet. Many of the foods that have caused you to gain weight will need to be something of the past. You are moving on to a healthier new you, and with that the old way of eating will need to go. This is typically not an issue though, after fueling your body with foods that help you feel your best, you will most likely not want to go back to the old you.
Will I need to take supplements?
Yes, we have four supplements that are included in the protocol, a Multi-Vitamin, an Omega-3, a Calcium-Magnesium, and a Potassium. The amount of food you take in on this diet is lower than your typical American diet, and so to keep your body functioning properly and most efficiently it is vital to be sure you have the correct amount of vitamins and minerals. These supplements will ensure adequate intake of vitamins and minerals.
