Mark Drymalski, MD
Dr. Mark Drymalski joined Avera Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in October of 2007. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in English and biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of South Dakota. He went on to earn his medical degree from the Sanford School of Medicine of the University of South Dakota in 2003. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation training in 2007 at the University of Missouri, where he was chief resident. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Dr. Drymalski's specialties include: stroke and brain injury rehabilitation, spinal cord injury management, spasticity management, electrodiagnostics (EMG/NCS) and musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain management. His special interest include: electrodiagnostics (EMG), acute and chronic neck, back, knee and shoulder pain, trigger point, bursa and ligament injections, stroke and TBI management, bracing, prosthetics and orthotics, workers compensation, non-cosmetic Botox injections for spasticity, and acute spine injuries.
In addition to his current employment at Avera McKennan Hospital, he provides outreach physical medicine and rehabilitation services at Avera Queen of Peace in Mitchell, SD.
Thomas J. Ripperda, MD
Dr. Ripperda has been the medical director of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center since 2007. In 1999, Dr. Ripperda earned his medical degree from the Sanford School of Medicine of the University of South Dakota. In 2003, Dr. Ripperda completed the physical and rehabilitation residency program at the University of Colorado.
He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as independent medical examination. Additionally, he has been board certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine. His specialties include physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain assessment and recommendation, and independent medical exams. His special interests include: electrodiagnostics (EMGs), acute spine injuries, workers compensation, spinal cord injuries, stroke, trigger point injections and non-cosmetic Botox injections for spasticity.
Jonathan D. Stone, MD
Dr. Stone has been a staff physician at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Center since July 2003. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor or Science in medicine from the University of South Dakota in 1981, Dr. Stone obtained his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1983. He then went on to specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University Health Center of Pittsburgh. Dr. Stone has been board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Board of Pain Medicine and American Board of Independent Medical Exams.
In addition to his current employment at Avera McKennan Hospital, he also acts as a consulting physician both at the Worthington Regional Hospital (Minnesota) and the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center (Minnesota).
Dr. Stone specializes in the treatment of physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain assessment and recommendations, and independent medical exams. His special interests include: traumatic brain injury, stroke, spasticity, spinal cord injury, post-operative orthopedics, post polio syndrome, post traumatic headaches, ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), trigger point injections, lumbar epidural injections, non-cosmetic Botox injections, acute spine injuries, stimulator management, intrathecal pump management for spasticity and pain.
