Avera McKennan Receives National Marrow Donor Program Approval

The National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) has approved Avera McKennan as an Apheresis Collection Center. Avera McKennan is honored to be the only approved center in South Dakota.

This prestigious approval allows donors that are registered with the NMDP to donate their peripheral blood stem cells at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center. Previously, donors would have to travel to St. Paul, MN, or Omaha, NE, in order to donate. Donated stem cells are used for patients undergoing peripheral blood stem cell transplant.
