This course is designed to provide the learner with cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with implementing the trauma nursing process. The trauma nusing process is used to standardize the approach to trauma care. At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- demonstrate the concepts and principles of patient assessment;
- establish and manage priorities in a trauma situation;
- initiate primary and secondary management necessary for acute life threatening emergencies;
- demonstrate the skills necessary for initial management of trauma patients.
Cost for the course is $200 which includes the book. ($125 is non-refundable after April 23 deadline) (no charge to employees of Avera St. Luke's). Must attend both days.
Class is held in the Education Center at 709 6th Ave. SE, Aberdeen, SD.
The Emergency Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Target Audience: All registered nurses. Other interested allied health professionals may audit the course.
