This program is designed for health care and other professionals who are mandated by Iowa law to report possible abuse situations to the Department of Human Services. At the conclusion of the program each participant should be able to: provide an overview of the statues and laws for child/dependent adult abuse in Iowa identify the similarities between the two laws identify the differences between the two laws create awareness of their responsibility as mandatory reporters to report concerns they have regarding potential abuse situations

Registration is closed.

Pre-registration is required.  Registration is complete when payment has been received.  Refunds will be made only if cancellation is made 24 hours prior to the class or if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment.

Fees & Payment

$15 for Child and Adult Training

$10 for Adult Training only

Description

This program is designed for health care and other professionals who are mandated by Iowa law to report possible abuse situations to the Department of Human Services.

At the conclusion of the program each participant should be able to:

  • provide an overview of the statues and laws for child/dependent adult abuse in Iowa
  • identify the similarities between the two laws
  • identify the differences between the two laws
  • create awareness of their responsibility as mandatory reporters to report concerns they have regarding potential abuse situations

Participants attending the adult portion only will be dismissed after 2 hours of attendance.

Upon completion of the entire program, each nurse requesting credit will be granted 0.36 CEUs by Floyd Valley Hospital (Iowa Provider #144). 

Mandatory Adult & Child Abuse Training is required to be renewed every five years.
