This course is designed to develop a system of priorities and rationales for treatment in the resuscitation of infants during the first moments of life according to standards and guidelines developed by the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
As the participants progress through this program, knowledge and skills needed to perform neonatal resuscitation, suggestions for using resuscitation equipment, and simulated situations for practice are covered. It is through such practice that the confidence and skills necessary to perform a resuscitation correctly and in a timely manner is achieved. This program will be completed in 2 parts.
Part I of the course is the former "classroom" which is now done as a self study online. Please call the Education dept at (605) 622-5588 to register for this class at which time the information/book will be given to you on how to log in to complete the online part I. You will also need to register for a skills completion time. Once the online Part I is completed, the participant prints a certificate allowing them to take Part II, which is the skills practice/testing. Upon completion of Part I and II, the participant is then given a course completion card.
Target Audience: This course is designed for healthcare professionals who are responsible for resuscitation and management of the neonatal patient.
