Dr. Tricia Merrigan Joins Specialty Breast Surgery Practice
SIOUX FALLS (Aug. 13, 2012) – Avera Medical Group is pleased to announce that Tricia Merrigan, MD, will join Avera Medical Group Comprehensive Breast Care as of Aug. 13. Dr. Merrigan joins breast surgeons Dr. Julie Reiland and Dr. Wade Dosch in this practice.
Dr. Merrigan comes to Avera Medical Group Comprehensive Breast Care after completing a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. This fellowship program is accredited by the Society of Surgical Oncology. She completed residency at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at Des Moines, and medical school at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine at Vermillion. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Merrigan will divide her time between this practice, and Surgical Institute of South Dakota.
Dr. Merrigan joins the only practice in the region that is solely dedicated to breast surgery. She and her colleagues offer the latest surgical techniques, as well as further testing and diagnosis after an abnormal mammogram, genetic testing for women who have a family history of breast disease, and long-term monitoring and follow-up care of patients with breast cancer and other breast diseases.
