The first 200 that sign up will get free event T-shirts and a 2 liter of Pepsi product.

“This blood drive is held at a time during the year when blood supplies are at low levels due to a decrease in donations and a consistent demand for blood for our patient,” states Ken Versteeg, executive director, Community Blood Bank.  “Community support is vital to the local blood supply. It is important to know that the blood that is donated to Community Blood Bank is from your friends and neighbors in this region. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Sioux Falls area patients and encourage the community to help us by donating on the bloodmobile on Saturday, July 28.”

In past years, this blood drive has been the single largest blood collection day of the year, drawing on an average of 200 units of blood.  Community Blood Bank hopes to collect 210 units of blood that will impact up to 630 patients’ lives and help ensure a stable blood supply through the rest of the summer.
