Birth at 9:10, 11-12-13 Is a Once-in-a-Century Event
SIOUX FALLS (Nov. 13, 2013) - It could happen only on one day in a century. And of the 24 hours and 1,440 minutes in that day, it could happen only at one of two moments.
A baby boy born at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., has the unusual distinction of being born at 9:10, 11-12-13. Kelly and Tom Pischke of Dell Rapids, S.D., are the parents of a son, Preston, who was born at 9:10 a.m. on Nov. 12, 2013. He joins sister Brooklyn, 20 months, and brother Jayden, 4.
Kelly said a cesarean section was scheduled for the date. Yet it wasn’t until a couple hours after the birth, as the happy parents were contacting family and friends, that they realized their son had the distinction of being born at 9:10 on 11-12-13. Both mother and baby are doing well. Preston weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces, and is 22.5 inches long.
Dr. Molly Uhing of Avera Medical Group Obstetrics & Gynecology delivered the baby.
