    The Intermediate Course focuses on applying essential fetal heart rate monitoring theory and skills in intrapartum nursing practice. This course is not an introductory course.

    The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course teaches participants how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes of an emergency until professional help arrives. This class is taught by a certified American Heart Association instructor. This course is specially designed to train those responsible for children's health in meeting state-specific requirements.

    This program is designed for health care and other professionals who are mandated by Iowa law to report possible abuse situations to the Department of Human Services. At the conclusion of the program each participant should be able to: provide an overview of the statues and laws for child/dependent adult abuse in Iowa identify the similarities between the two laws identify the differences between the two laws create awareness of their responsibility as mandatory reporters to report concerns they have regarding potential abuse situations
