Autumn Crisp

Ingredients

  • 3 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • 3 tbsp quick-cooking tapioca
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 ¼ cup sugar

Directions

  1. Mix apples, pears, tapioca, cranberries and water in large saucepan.
  2. Over medium heat, bring to boil.
  3. When the cranberries begin to pop, add sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Stirring constantly, return to boil and cook for one minute.
  5. Pour into 2 qt baking dish.

Topping

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter or trans-fat free margarine, softened
  • ½ cup white flour
  • ¼ cup whole-wheat flour
  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Directions

Combine all ingredients and sprinkle over top. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
