Beef Barley Soup

Serves 8 (8 oz)

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water
  • 1 cup barley
  • 1/2 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1/3 cup onion, chopped
  • 6 1/2 tsp low sodium beef base
  • 8 oz beef sirloin, diced
  • ½ c. celery
  • ½ t onion powder
  • ½ t garlic powder
  • ¼ t white pepper

Recipe Directions

  1. Brown beef.
  2. Mix water, beef base and seasonings.
  3. Add vegetables. Bring to boil.
  4. Add barley.
  5. Cook until barley is done about 20-30 minutes.
