Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes 4 dozen

Directions

  1. Place 1 1/2 sticks butter, 4 tbsp canola oil, and 5 tbsp natural applesauce in a large bowl. Beat with a mixer on medium until blended (about 30 seconds)
  2. Add: 
    2 cups brown sugar
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    2 tsp cinnamon
  3. Beat until combined. Beat in 4 eggs and 2 tsp vanilla.
  4. Beat in: 
    2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
    1 cup toasted wheat germ
    4 Tbsp ground flax
  5. Stir in 4 cups old fashioned oats. Then 1 cup chocolate chips.
  6. Bake at 375 Degrees Fahrenheit for 10-11 minutes.
