Helping You Manage Your Diabetes

The Diabetes Education Center at Avera Marshall helps people of all ages learn to successfully manage their diabetes. Staff work with patients, their family members and their physicians to design a program to meet each patient’s needs.

What Do Patients Learn?

A dietitian/certified diabetes educator and a registered nurse help patients learn to:

• Plan meals
• Test blood sugar
• Incorporate exercise
• Use medications
• Adjust to new feelings
