The goal of Avera Marshall's pharmacist-run diabetes education program is to provide comprehensive diabetes self-management skills and to form creative partnerships with medical providers to empower people with diabetes.
Diabetes conditions we treat:
- Type 1 diabetes
- Type 2 diabetes
- Gestational diabetes

- Comprehensive Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
- iPro® Continuous Glucose Monitoring

Emily Holm, Pharm.D., BCACP
Dr. Holm obtained her doctorate of pharmacy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. Currently she is the diabetes education program coordinator and is insulin pump certified. She believes that effective self care begins with empowerment, which means helping people see that they have the ability within themselves to be healthy. She has special clinical interests in pump and sensor technology. She became a board certified ambulatory care pharmacist in 2013.
Laura Runstrom, PharmD
Dr. Runstrom obtained her doctorate of pharmacy degree from Ferris State University in Big Rapid, Mich. Laura’s passion for diabetes education revolves around having the opportunity to interact directly with patients and forming close relationships with them. She has a special clinical interest in gestational diabetes.
