Sleep Disorder Testing
Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea can be easily identified through sleep diagnostic testing at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. Testing is performed overnight in a private sleep room. Sensors are attached to the body to monitor breathing, heart rate, brain activity, muscle activity and oxygen levels while the patient sleeps.
After Sleep Disorder Testing
If a sleep disorder is identified early in the testing period, a treatment trial period may be administered. Computerized data is analyzed and interpreted by a licensed pulmonologist. Results are then sent to the patient’s physician. Recurring sleep problems usually mean that other aspects of life may be suffering as well. Physical health, work performance, social interaction and even sexual behavior are all directly influenced by the amount and quality of sleep. Let us help you put your sleep problems to rest.
If you feel you may be a candidate for a sleep study, consult your physician. Most insurance plans cover the cost of testing and treatment devices.
