Welcome to the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Skills Course to be held in the Simulation Lab (4th Floor of Hospital), Avera McKennan Hospital, 1325 S. Cliff Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57105.
The new NRP course format requires the learner to complete the examination via the Internet prior to attending the skills simulation portion of the course.
The learner will need to study the newly released Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 6th Edition prior to taking the on-line examination and attending the skills lab. Purchase the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 6th Edition via the American Academy of Pediatrics website at www.aap.org/bookstore. Copies of this textbook are also available for checkout in the Avera McKennan Medical Library (605) 322-8484 or the Wegner Health Science Information Center (605) 357-1400.
Avera McKennan Employees Only ~ On-line Examination
Additional instructions will be e-mailed to the participant within 30 days of the scheduled skills lab session, along with the NRP examination assignment via the Learning Connection. Participants will need to read the instruction documents carefully. Participants registering for the skills lab session more than 30 days prior will not receive the on-line exam assignment via the Learning Connection until 30 days before the scheduled skills lab session.
Please note: If the participant does not pass the on-line examination or does not attend a skills lab within the 30 day timeframe, the participant will be responsible for the charges to attain a new access code. Participants will need to print the certificate of completion and bring it to the skills lab session.
Non-Avera McKennan Employees ~ On-line Examination
Non-Avera McKennan Employees will need to purchase and complete their on-line examination through the American Academy of Pediatrics at www.aap.org/nrp/exam. Please note: Participants will need to take the on-line exam no more than 30 days prior to the skills lab session, otherwise the exam will be voided and the participant will not be able to participate in the skills lab and will need to purchase another on-line exam. Participants will need to print the certificate of completion and bring it to the skills lab session.
