Celebrate Avera McKennan Hospital's
100 Year Anniversary

Avera McKennan is proud of its heritage. From the very first surgery performed in December 1911 to the grand opening of the Prairie Center in November 2010, we have come a long way. We invite you to be part of some of those events as you go back in time through 100 years of our history, starting with the woman who founded the Catholic health care system, Nano Nagle.

The Presentation and Benedictine Sisters came to South Dakota and were influential in establishing health care in our region. Decisions made right here at McKennan Hospital were influenced by decisions made throughout the nation.
