Support Our Mission
Free Clinic
In 1992, McKennan Hospital opened Sioux Falls' first and only free clinic of its kind, now known as Avera Medical Group Health Care Clinic. Serving individuals who are uninsured and underinsured, the free clinic and its staff offer preventative care; diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions; and referrals to specialty care for more complex cases.
Seeing more than 8,600 patients a year, the clinic also offers education on diabetes and other health topics, medication assistance, annual flu shots and psychiatric care.
Thanks to Helen McKennan's generous investment in her community, countless people have received quality health care services throughout the past century, regardless of their ability to pay. Please help us continue her mission by supporting her vision of services to all people in our community.
