The Avera McKennan Emergency Department is located on the northwest side of the Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center campus, at the intersection of 7th Avenue and 20th Street. The emergency department includes a dedicated parking lot for patients and families with additional parking available on the surrounding streets and in the parking ramps just east of the ED. Avera McKennan's campus is located at 800 E 21st Street in Sioux Falls.
Additional emergency care is available in southwest Sioux Falls at the Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota. The Avera Heart Hospital provides round-the-clock emergency care for all non-orthopedic emergencies. Avera Heart Hospital’s emergency department is fully staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Avera Heart Hospital is located at 4500 W. 69th St. on the south side of Sioux Falls.
