Specialty Exams

  • Independent Medical Exam
The Independent Medical Exam (IME) is performed by a disinterested party with no medical or treatment affiliation between the provider and the injured party in the case.
  • Records Review
The Records Review is similar to the IME, but does not include a patient exam.
  • Fitness For Duty
Fitness for Duty exams are performed to determine whether an individual is able to safely perform a job.
  • Second Opinion
The most common goal of a Second Opinion is to clarify and address concerns about treatment and/or return-to-work issues.
  • Impairment Rating
The physician uses the AMA’s Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment (4th Edition) to calculate the percent of impairment.
