Team member roles
Physiatrist - A physician who specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. They will oversee and direct your individualized rehabilitation program to ensure high quality treatment.
Patient Care Coordinator - Rehabilitation Registered Nurse who works with you on care, education and identifying the best plan to meet your needs from pre-admission to discharge.
Rehabilitation Nurses - Our nurses will work with you, your family and the Rehabilitation Team to assist you in learning the skills you need to live as independently as possible. They will continually evaluate your care, progress and other medical, educational and emotional needs.
Physical Therapist - They will assist you to regain your greatest functional potential. They will evaluate and design an individualized exercise program to help you increase your mobility, strength, endurance, coordination and balance.
Occupational Therapist - They will evaluate your ability to complete familiar tasks such as eating, dressing, bathing and household/work tasks. They will plan a program of activities and exercises that will help prepare you to return to your home or job.
Speech & Language Pathologist - They will evaluate your strength and coordination to see how your facial muscles work for you during speech, eating and swallowing. They will evaluate your ability to understand others and express yourself.
Community Reintegration Specialist - They will work with you and your family to develop a program of enjoyable and appropriate leisure activities. Supervise outings related to your community needs such as movies, shopping, dining and sporting events may be provided.
Other Team members - Other team members who may be involved in your care - Your Primary Care Physician, consulting Physicians, Aquatic Therapists, Orthotist, Prosthetist, Dentist, volunteers, Pharmacy, Psychologist and Audiologist.
