If you are having an inpatient procedure, you can expect to stay in the hospital overnight, after your surgery. Sometimes people who are staying overnight will be admitted to the hospital the day before their surgery. In most cases, people who are staying overnight will be admitted the morning of their surgery.
At Avera, we understand you want smaller incisions, a faster recovery and perhaps most importantly, a safer surgery. That’s why Avera offers traditional surgery as well as the Da Vinci S 3D HD Surgical System—a new, less invasion system for appendectomies, gall bladder removal, Lap Nissen procedures, weight loss surgery, prostatectomies, hysterectomies and other gynecological surgeries that results in:
- Faster recovery and shorter hospital stays
- Less blood loss and risk of infection
- Less pain
- Less scarring
