Patient Focused Trauma Care

The Emergency Department has an average wait time of less than 20 minutes, patient rooms with a universal design and specialized equipment that can be moved to the patient to decrease wait times.

Avera also has an on-call program that provides round-the-clock, instant surgical access to emergency patients, a tactic not always implemented in emergency rooms. This program ensures that a general surgeon and an operating room are always available.
