Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer

Support Services

Social workers meet with newly diagnosed cancer patients, and provide support and information in terms of coping with feelings about diagnosis and treatment.  They also provide a supportive and safe environment, and assist patients with any pertinent issue relating to their individualized care plan.

Join Lynne Hunter, social worker at the Avera Cancer Institute, as she discusses why social workers are vital members of the health care team as well as how they offer support to help manage the day-to-day challenges of living with cancer.
