Avera Queen of Peace Health Services consists of several medical facilities dedicated to providing comprehensive health care in Mitchell, SD and a nineteen-county area. Our flagship, Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, is equipped with the region's most advanced, state-of-the-art medical technology and services. Avera Queen of Peace has a long history of health care service, and plan on continuing that services.
Avera Queen of Peace Pediatric Unit Donation
The Mt. Vernon High School Careers Class assigned the students a community project, and the students received a list of ideas for projects they might do for their community. One group selected Avera Queen of Peace as the recipient of their project.
Maci McGhee, Alisha Northrup and Haley Delancey, sophomores at Mt. Vernon High School, made donation cans and set them out for several weeks at the bank and gas stations, asking the community memebers to help purchase activity, coloring and reading books that would be given to pediatric patients at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. The girls collected $72.40 for their project.
In late March, Maci, Alisha and Haley contacted the hospital so that they could present their purchases to the Pediatric Unit; Lisa Williams, RN, Clinical Coordinator, accepted the gifts on behalf of the hospital. Tracy Pardy, Foundation Director, is also pictured thanking the girls for their gifts to the hospital.
