Occupational Health Technician


Today we introduce Occupational Health Technician, Sherry.

Sherry was born in Utah and has lived in seven different states (one of which 3 different times). Sherry's work experience has primarily been in the healthcare field; however, when she lived in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania she did drive a seventy-two passenger flat-front school bus. (Yes CDL required!!!)

Living in seven different states Sherry and her family have seen and experienced many different enviroments and cultures. Sherry's thought of living in the Midwest, “Living in South Dakota will bring the hunter out of you.”

What is your favorite food?

If you do volunteer work; tell us a little bit about what you do and why.
Having four active kids in the house ranging in age from twelve to eighteen allows for multiple opportunities to volunteer.

What keeps you going during the day?
3 cups of coffee, 1 coke and then water for the rest of the day

Mowing the lawn, Cooking, Cleaning the house, Keeping up with the kids, (Oh wait those are not hobbies...when is there time for a hobby when everyone is constantly on the go?)

If you could have any pet, what would it be?
Dog (If you don’t have one...get one or even five!!)

What would be your dream vacation?
I would love to tour Europe.

Why choose one when you should have both.

Would you rather sleep in an extra hour or watch the news in the morning?
Sleep an extra hour of course!!!

Who drinks the most caffeine in the office?
All of us drink caffeine and a lot of it: Coffee, Tea, Mt. Dew, Coke, etc..

Who has the worse music taste in the office?
Not too sure about that one, but the 80’s rocker is frightening.

Muffins or pancakes?
Muffins all the way!!

What do you do on Saturdays?
Go to sports events or catch a movie.

Favorite place to eat in Mitchell?
Corona Village

organized, enthusiastic and dedicated

Favorite movie?
All of the Harry Potter Movies.

What do you like best about working for Avera Occupational Medicine-Mitchell?
It has been a wild ride, however I am up for the challenge. I also enjoy the characters that make up this department.
