At Avera Queen of Peace we believe breastfeeding provides the best possible nutrition for infants through the first six months of life. Our goal is to foster an environment conducive to breastfeeding success. We recommend keeping visits short, maintaining a quiet environment and allowing families private time to bond and feed their baby.

Avera Queen of Peace is pleased to have an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) at their facility. Barb Pratt is certified by the International Board of Lactation Examiners, which means that she has had extensive practical experience working with mothers whom are breastfeeding and has completed a university level exam. Barb is now available to provide assistances for mothers who are breastfeeding.
