Avera Sacred Heart Support Groups

Avera Sacred Heart is committed to taking responsibility for improving the health of those who live and work in the Yankton region.   If you are looking for a specific healthcare support group for you or a loved one, Avera Sacred Heart has a variety of groups that meet on a regular basis at various locations and times. 

American Diabetes Association

Open to everyone wanting more information about diabetsa and your health. Monthly meetings (except July, Nov., Dec), 2nd Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Held in the Benedictine Center Conference Room. Contact Susan Barnes, 605-668-8279.

Cancer Support Groups 

All meetings are held at the Avera Sacred Heart Cancer Center. Call Darla Gullikson, 605-668-8850 for more information.

Yankton Breast Cancer Survivor's 

Support for breast cancer survivors and loved ones who are newly diagnosed, going through treatment or are done with treatments. Monthly meetings, 2nd Monday - 4 p.m. 

Cancer Survivor's Group 

Support for cancer survivor's or patient with any cancer diagnosis and their loved ones. Monthly meetings (no July and Dec), 4th Monday at 10:30 a.m.

"Look Good, Feel Better" 

For individuals who are currently undergoing chemotherapy and would like some assistance with how to wear makeup and haircare/wigs from licensed cosmetologists. Monthly, 2nd Monday, 3 p.m.

Parkinson's Support Group 

Open to anyone dealing with Parkinson's Disease. Monthly (except Dec.), 2nd Friday. 1:30 p.m. in the Benedictine Center Conference Room. Call Carol Hamvas at 605-665-7158.
