Group Exercise Schedule
15 Minute Abs: Instructor Laura Larson teaches to you to help strengthen and firm the torso, flatten the belly and stretch out muscles for a long, lean line in this express class.
Arthritis Water Aerobics: Nancy Teachout instructs a slower paced water aerobics class with rhythmic stretching and strengthening. This class is designed to soothe achy joints related to arthritis.
Boot Camp: Led by Warren Brenner, this intense six week class is based primarily on cardio and strength training, with a variety of boot camp training exercises.
Insanity: This class is a cardio based total-body conditioning program. Insanity classes are not led by an Avera Sacred Heart Instructor, but rather are a video session where members follow “Insanity” workout videos.
Power Toning: Instructor Laura Larson teaches different weight training exercises geared towards working and targeting all of the muscles of your body.
Sculpt & Tone: Come join us for a fun and challenging weight training class taught by Ashley Armstrong.
We will sculpt your body and finish up the class with a 15 minute core-strengthening session.
Senior Toning: This class is targeted towards seniors and involves various strength, flexibility, and balance training, as well as cardio, for a full body workout. Denise DeJong teaches class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday the class is taught by Julie Van Gerpen.
Silver Sneakers
®
Muscular, Strength and Range of Movement: Have fun with Julie Van Gerpen and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers® ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Step Circuit: Come join Step Circuit with trainer Julie Van Gerpen. This class involves a cardio and strength training circuit with two minute alternating intervals.
Water Aerobics: Water aerobics is a low impact class that consists of simple movements in the water and incorporates different stretches. Come join Denise DeJong at 9:30am on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, or join Michelle Ziegler at 4:00pm on Monday and Thursday, or workout with Ladonna Kniffen at the 5:15pm session on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Yoga: Yoga helps people with flexibility, tone, balance and stress reduction. Yoga can be done by anyone from the exercise challenged to the very physically fit. Extending your Yoga Practice, Relaxation Yoga, Non-Beginner Yoga, and Gentle Yoga are all taught by Liz Dooley. All Levels Yoga classes are taught by Gloria Pearson, Dennis Menke, Liz Dooley, and Jan Johnson.
Zumba

It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party™ that’s moving millions of people toward joy and health. Come work out with Zumba instructor Julia Schrier in this class. We will primarily focus on cardio and keeping constant movement along with following the steps of the instructor, all while keeping to the beat of music.
