Avera St. Anthony’s Chemotherapy Department is located in the new hospital addition. The surroundings are comfortable and decorated to provide the patient with a homey atmosphere.

We administer chemotherapy Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Times other than those listed can be arranged if another time would be more convenient for the patient.

We have the following modalities:
  • IV (Intravenous)
  • IM (Intramuscular)
  • SC (Subcutaneous) or bladder instillation

The Chemotherapy Department was established in l995 and over the years, has served nineteen different physicians. The department is staffed by three Registered Nurses who care for patients of all ages.

Barb Slaba, R.N. has been a Registered Nurse for 40 years and is Director of Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital Chemotherapy Department. She is a graduate of Presentation Heights College, Aberdeen, S.D.
