The American Arthritis Aquatic Program is offered year round. The Arthritis Aquatics class is a recreational and rehab program performed in a heated pool designed to hlep individuals. The program provides the opportunity for those with arthritis to meet other people with arthritis and have fun. A trained instructor will take the class through a specifically designed exercise program using the waters buoyance and resistance to help increase joint flexibility and range of motion. The warm water and gentle movements help to relieve pain and stiffness and gain strength and endurance. Anyone wanting to strengthen their back, has arthritis, or has severe joint problems are encouraged to check with their physician before enrolling in the program.
Classes are held every Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 9:00 a.m. Locker rooms are available. It is not necessary to know how to swim.
