Lukie the Lion

Our colorful and large pediatric mascot, Lukie the Lion, assists children in relating to Avera St. Luke’s and pediatrics in a positive and healthy manner. Children tend to open up and initiate conversation with this cartoon-type character.

Lukie the Lion Visits Schools

Lukie the Lion travels to Head Start centers and schools, offering an educational and entertaining wellness program. This provides a method to satisfy a child’s curiosity about healthcare. The children grasp the basic concept that they are important and that they should take care of themselves. This program helps children make positive choices about their own health, and they will then promote those positive choices in their parent’s health habits.
