Screenings
Prostate screenings
Offered annually in the fall to males age 40 and older for only $25. The screenings consist of a physical prostate exam, a prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood test, a nurse consultation and educational materials.

Free blood pressure screenings
Offered six times monthly in Aberdeen, SD, for both men and women:
First Tuesday: The Homestead, 9 to 10 a.m.
First Thursday: Fifth Avenue Apartments, 1 to 2 p.m.; Sherman Apartments, 2 to 3 p.m.
Second Wednesday: Bicentennial Apartments, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Third Tuesday: Aberdeen Area Senior Center, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Fourth Wednesday: Avera Mother Joseph Manor, 1 to 2 p.m.
HeartSmart, Take Heart screenings
HeartSmart
comprehensive heart screening is offered by Avera St. Luke's for just $50. Call 605-622-5556 for more information or to make an appointment. This screening, a wise choice for your heart and your budget, includes:
- Calcium score CT exam, featuring advanced technology for detection of heart disease
- Blood pressure check
- Body Mass Index check (BMI)
- Lipid panel (total cholesterol, HDL,LDL, triglycerides)
- Glucose screening
- Education and risk assessment
- Information about wellness services
Take Heart screenings are offered in the fall and spring. For $25, participants will be screened for five risk factors:
- Blood pressure
- Height/weight/body mass index
- Cholesterol
- Glucose
- Smoking
