Avera Weskota Memorial Medical Center is staffed with professionals trained in advanced life support. We provide intermediate and Medicare skilled swing bed along with acute, cardiac, surgical, pediatric and emergency care.

Emergency Care
- Avera Weskota Memorial Hospital operates a 24-hour Emergency Department.
- Avera Weskota is fortunate to be part of a number of innovative technology applications through Avera eCARE™ which provide 24-hour rural access to specialty care physicians and pharmacists and supports the rural health care workforce.
- eEmergency includes wall mounted video equipment which allows two-way collaboration between rural health professionals and off-site physicians and specialists for trauma and emergency patients.
- eICU mobile carts with two-way video equipment and monitoring devices connect off-site physicians and specialists to critically ill patients.
- ePharmacy allows electronic patient medication orders to be reviewed and approved 24 hours a day providing support to local pharmacists in rural facilities across the region.
- On-site CAT (Computerized Axial Tomography) Scans provide images of bones, organs and internal bleeding and result in earlier diagnosis. This life-saving technology saves time and travel expenses for patients.
- Avera CareFlight helicopter and airplane transportation is available along with Jerauld County Ambulance Services for emergency transportation.
